Life is about the simple pleasures. Today we received bounty from France. The world's coolest sister-in-law sent us moleskins! Hurrah. And a mini-Eiffel Tower as well as an abundance of puppets, coloring books, art sticker books, and a book about Picasso (Umberto saw it and said "Hey that's the painting we have on the wall."). I love treasures in the mail. And yes I know I am obligated to send out some treasures as well.And then just to top it off, I went to the library and brought home lots of pleasure:

I wish my local library had any books by Roberto Bolaño... I've spent a lot of effort trying to find the Savage Detectives in a bookstore (I can easily get it online), to no avail. Odd as it received a lot of press.
Sounds like a good day to me.
I almost fell over when I saw it on the shelf, Jon. What's scary is that our university library does not have a copy!? Sad eh? But I'm happy, and throughly loving this book. H and I laid awake late last night comparing the translation to the Spanish. And then I kept waking him up with my laughter.

Ginger I loved the photo with themoleskins and the cardboard Eiffel tower on top of the plastic bag I sent it all in, coming from my neighborhood taylor, so that one can see "Rétrecir - Raccourcir", i.e., literally, "Shrink - Diminish", hahaha.
My joy is to imagine you all around the presents, things that I touched and chose and liked coming to you so far away thank to the hands of who-knows-how-many postmans in France and the US.
